In 2019, I developed an art project for Edinburgh Science Festival around the theme of eWaste. Using primarily discarded keyboards, Betty was created to highlight the issue of our unwanted technology, with screens in her mouth showing the reality of where our stuff goes once we’re done with it.

Since her premiere in the National Museum of Scotland, Betty has been touring Scotland, spreading the message about eWaste and why we need to think about the afterlife of the products we purchase.

The eWaste, and much of the tour support, has been provided by CCL North who do incredible work to make sure that technological waste is reused and recycled as much as possible.
Massive thanks to CCL North, and all the venues who have housed Betty:
- National Museum of Scotland, Grand Gallery
- Ocean Terminal (for COP 26)
- St Enoch’s Centre, for Glasgow Science Festival
- Thistle Centre, for Stirling Science Festival
- Wester Hailes West Side Plaza
- Climate Festival, Edinburgh
- Reuse Hub, Stirling
- Hamilton Shopping Centre
- St James Quarter, Edinburgh
